We've had a few accidents lately. Ruby tripped over and landed face first on a boulder in the garden before music class. There were no tears, just the usual sulky noises. But when Ruby turned around she had a nice 50cent piece sized gravel rash on her chin that was bleeding and bleeding and bleeding. Apart from the scar taking way to long to heal - after a week it now looks like a faded food stain - Ruby is fine.
We did however have a rather scary accident involving the steam vapouriser and Ruby's hand. The silly chook got her hand on it when it was on - she was to quick for mum - and burnt herself. There were many tears and lots of trips to the freezer to play with the ice. This has healed and you can't even tell that she was burnt but if you ask Ruby to show you her sore finger she sure remembers! There is one good thing that has come out of the incident and that is if you don't want Ruby to touch something or go somewhere you can tell her it's hot and she will stop dead in her tracks.
Out of pure curiosity and the fact that all of Ruby's long pants seem to now look like they should be 3 quarter pants, mummy decided to measure Ruby this week. Over the past 5 months Ruby has grown 7 centimeters. Is that some sort of baby record? Will she ever stop?
Ruby has also gotten a lot better at swimming with daddy. She will now go on the blue mat without a drama, kicks and paddles underwater and jumps in from the side of the pool. Even though Ruby has been using the toilet really well, for some reason she decided this week that the pool would be the place to go. Crazy, after telling mum all week that she needs to use the potty and then uses it, she makes a liar out of us and just stops half way through class and does it in her togs. Glad mummy was at work and daddy had to deal with it :)
This week Ruby has started clucking like a hen, she tries her hardest to bounce like a kangaroo (very funny to watch - we will get this on video), drives her car everywhere and is teething again.
We thought the 2 year old molars were coming earlier in the year. Well, they went away and now they are back. Hopefully, this time they will pop through. Ruby's not happy, her fingers are constantly in her mouth and she is waking during the night again. Although, no where near as bad as she was the last time she was teething.
