Birthday Party's, Attitude and Nappy free

Well she made it. After a few threats, Ruby turned 3 and had a fairy/dinosaur themed birthday party with her family. We missed out on our trip to the muesem due to the floods (which just happened to occur on Ruby's b'day) but we have promised to take her in again once it all opens back up.

We did try to take Ruby and Tilly last weekend but found out only after getting all the way to the city that the muesem was still closed after the floods. We did find in Southbank a free kids area that had been set up with a huge jumping castle/slide and the biggest sand pit - Ruby was in her element.

We know she is 3 and that this is normal behaviour for a 3 year old but we still can not believe our little angel has turned into little miss sometimes naughty. Ask her to do something and you get told, "I don't love that" and she will walk away and do something on the other side of the house or she will do something that she knows is wrong, wait until you are looking, do it and see what reaction she gets. Oh and the tears, Ruby will cry and sulk for no reason, if you aren't listening, doing what she wants or if she has just been told to go to her room.

On the other hand, she will give you the best hugs, tell you how much she loves you, help out doing the house work, play quietly when Tilly is sleeping and be super good. These extremes happen within minutes of each other and usually the naughty Ruby shows up when Tilly is awake.

Ruby loves her sister so much and is so keen to play with her. She just wants Tilly to be able to jump and run and be a little less fragile.

Ruby latest love is channel ABC 2 which runs kids programs all day! Recently when Ruby was playing up in the car, Dad said "you can go and live at Grandma's house if you don't stop .....", Ruby's reply was "OK, can I watch my programs".

Oh, and since just before her birthday Ruby stopped wearing nappies to bed, she is now nappy free full time.
