slack mummy

Ok, so it's been a while....sorry. Daddy has been reminding mummy to update Ruby's blog continuously but do you think he has any inclination to write....no!
The big news for the last couple of weeks is that Ruby has taken to using the potty. We have had two poos in the potty in a couple of days and she is now recognising and letting you know that she is about to and has done a wee or a poo in her nappy.
Ruby has started jumping, throwing and riding backwards on her little car. She is also spending a lot of time moving our furniture around the house.
Ruby is also becoming very knowing. You can now ask her a question and she will answer yes (nods) and no (says nope and shakes head). Would you like some fruit, dinner, water or bath - nods; are you ready for bed - nope!
The latest animal sounds and actions Ruby worked out over the last couple of weeks include growling like a bear, (clap hands together) snap snap like a crocodile and pinching fingers together like a crab.
Mummy and Ruby have also been working a lot on colours. 9 out of 10 times Ruby will know yellow and green and she is just starting to grasp red and blue.

She sleeps

Right through the night and for hours during the day. Ruby is putting herself to sleep in her cot, you can get her ready for bed put her in her cot and just walk away. That's right, walk away. She will sing to herself and even go through all her animal noises and then it will just go quite and she will be sound asleep like a little angel.

No more screaming at the side of the cot, no more lying on the floor for hours for mummy and daddy while she plays and throws you her dummy and then stands up and screams until you cuddle her to sleep.
We have no idea what changed but it all started last weekend after mummy took Ruby out to dinner. We have one late night out on the town and she works out how to sleep. Go figure.

Mummy had a lovely Mothers Day. We got to celebrate over 2 weekends with all of Ruby's grandma's as well. We brought Grandma Sheila a new cook book that she can share with Ruby and that's exactly what they did today. Ruby met mummy at the front door this afternoon with a plate full of biscuits that her and grandma had made today. Apparently, Ruby was very helpful with stirring, rolling out the dough and cutting out the biscuits into animal shapes. They were very tasty, not bad for a 15 month old.

and the last bit of news, mummy has launched her new business this week www.rubyrabbitofficeassist.com

All design work was done by the absolutely fabulous Aunty Porsha www.porshamarais.com I just hope that she will be able to sleep soon as well.
