Developing, developing...

Due to computer issues we missed a week of Ruby, here's an update:

Ruby now measures:
Weight: 4.950 grams/10 pound 15 ounces
Length: 58cm (that's 10cm in 8 weeks)
Head circ: 38 cm

Ruby is loosing her hair and has bald patches around her little noggin. Mummy has been counting the strands on the back of her pj's in despair every morning. Ruby started opening and closing her hands a fortnight ago and loves having new things touching her palms. Her sleeping pattern is great - she is now sleeping 5 - 6 hours in the first part of the night and then 3 - 4 hourly stints after that - Mummy is starting to look a bit more human.

She is recognising people and their voices and gets away with murder with her cute smiles - even at 1am. Ruby is still struggling with the day time sleeps and will go off no trouble at all if she is moving in her Jeep or in the car but put her in the cot and she will just cry until you come and get her - this is when you see the smiles. We have borrowed a vibrating bouncer which will calm her and help her get off to sleep majority of the time.
Ruby has also started drooling, initially we thought this was due to the vibrating bouncer but she does it all the time. It was just a coincidence that she started it when she was sitting in the bouncer. She has also started putting her fists in her mouth (mostly her left one) - apparently this is a motor skill???

Yesterday, Mummy and Daddy took Ruby for her first injections. She's tough like her father and cried more when the nurse had to remove the band aide, then when the needles where going in. She was a bit irritable in the afternoon but nothing a nice warm bath couldn't fix.
Ruby has been very strong ever since she was born and has been lifting her head from day one. Lately, when Mummy pulls Ruby up to a sitting position (by her hands) her little legs straighten and the next thing you know she will be standing there looking at you face to face. This is very cute and also quite scary when she gets the wobbles.

Here are some cute photos from the last fortnight:That's the cute smile I mentioned.
